Over this long Memorial Day weekend we pause to salute the fallen heroes whose ultimate sacrifice allows each of us to conduct our lives in a manner we see fit. Happy Memorial Day. May God Bless You and The United States of America.

Investing in the safety and durability of one’s home is as patriotic and meaningful as the backyard barbecue and apple pie. 

For most of us, Memorial Day weekend this year is extra special. Pool parties, outdoor gatherings, barbecues, and chill afternoons might be the first time we’ve seen family and friends since March! 

With the pandemic crisis and lockdown soon in the rear-view, homeowners will be looking to spend more time out of doors. Yes, we know you’d much rather organize your closets and swap out your winter clothes for your summerones–but get outside! 

The holiday weekend is an excellent opportunity to set the tone for the coming summer months. 

Before the temperatures heat up, here are some tips you can pass on to your customers for sprucing up. 

• Clean your driveway, hose or sweep off your deck, sidewalks, and/or patio. If needed, restain your deck and fix any damage from the winter. 
• Plant your garden and plan your landscaping for summer.
• Clean exterior doors, then caulk or weatherstrip any air gaps. 
• Check all of the filters in your AC units for dirt and grime. Make sure that they are not obstructed by shrubs, bushes, or fallen tree limbs. 
• Clean up the garage. Invest in shelving units or storage bins, or simply throw out the junk you haven’t used.
• Clean carpets and rugs that you use for your patio during outdoor gatherings and parties. Hose down patio furniture and clean the barbecue.
